Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha Partners United Nations World Food Programme in its drive to help the hungry

‘Holiday Inn – Dubai “Loves You Campaign” , the CSR initiative of Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha with your help was able to provide sustenance to 100,000 hungry children in 2012 through World Food Programme (WFP), the frontline Agency of the United Nations.

Our contribution although small helped WFP last year, as it reached 97 million people in 80 countries with food assistance.

Currently, you must have witnessed through the current media coverage, The Super Typhoon Haiyan, has left a critical situation in Philippines with millions of people affected and in urgent need of help in several quarters.

“The devastation we saw in Tacloban today was shocking,” said WFP Representative and Country Director Praveen Agrawal. “People have lost their homes and livelihoods, and the damage to infrastructure is substantial. Our thoughts are with the families affected by this terrible storm, and WFP is ready to assist in any way it can.”

In these early stages of the emergency, WFP are providing High Energy Biscuits since they are easy to transport and need no cooking.

Every $100 dollars provides 1,000 packs of the much needed sustenance that are to be flown in from Dubai.

Accordingly as a recognised partner of WFP the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha would like to make a personal appeal to all friends, colleagues, business partners and associates for your help.

I urge you to help in every small way possible to assist WFP in their mammoth task of reaching the 2.5 million hungry and helpless in Philippines before they lose their lives.
